To enter, please upload the images in the comment section below by clicking on the Landscape icon or you can use an image host like Flickr by pasting the embed link in the comment bar. Please post each image in a separate comment for voting purposes. A prize will be awarded to the first place image. Please enter jpgs that are at least 1200 pixels on the longest edge.
I will post a new subject on last Thursday of the month. The previous month's contest will end on the last Thursday of the month at 5 pm EST. I or a guest judge will select the winners.

This year my camera club decided to have our Christmas party at a local shrine that decorates with tons of Christmas lights. Of course, there was a shoot before the party and here are some of my images. I've photographed this place many times so this time I went a bit more abstract.

When you review a series of images in Lightroom you may notices that sometimes images taken just seconds apart from each other have different exposures. This can be due to using automatic or semi-automatic shooting modes in your camera because the camera meters each shot individually and producing slightly different exposures. One fix for this would be to shoot in manual mode and simply make sure you are starting with a good exposure, once set, it will not change unless you change it. However, if you encounter this problem, Lightroom provides a simple solution for a post processing fix. Check out the video below to find out how.
I recently went to a night photo shoot at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. They have a nice variety of trains and trolleys and the organizers of the shoot worked very hard to setup interesting shots for us. The setups even included models in period costumes. It was a fun (and cold) night and the shoot lasted till 11 pm. Here are some of my images. As you can see most of them were lit by strobes and we did some light painting.
